REFRESHMENTS FOR SOLDIERS

Sir,—With regard to charges for refreshments at railway stations, I would like to endorse what “South African Soldier” has to say. In my opinion all soldiers and other service men, not n.c.o.’s or officers, should have free meals at all railway stations when they are travelling to and from their homes on leave. It is not fair to take so much of their small pay. Considering what our boys are doing for us, it would not break the country to bear this small additional cost. OLD DIGGER.
