HOSPITAL LEVIES IN SOUTHLAND
Hospital levies charged to local bodies in Southland during the present financial year will total £50,747/4/9 compared with £43,990/18/10 last year. Of that amount £7580/16/5 (£BlOO/13/6 last year) will be for capital expenditure and £43,166/8/4 (£35,890/5/4) for maintenance. The estimates and rating levies were approved by the Southland Hospital Board yesterday. Following are the total levies charged to ieach local body, those for last year being given in parentheses:—Southland County, £24,138/1/6 (£20,441/19/9); Invercargill city, £12,056/8/4 (£10,341/13/6); South Invercargill Borough, £238/16/2 (£215 10/8); Wallace County, £7350/13/3 (£6739 15/5); Riverton Borough, £342/8/9 (£297 17/10); Otautau town district, £231/11/(£2lO/15/2); Nightcaps town district, £132 7/5 (£llB/5/10); Lake County, £1279/15/7 (£ll7O/18/10); Queenstown Borough. £356 19/7 (£321/6/1); Arrowtown Borough, £27 15/- (£25/9/2): Gore Borough, £2131/8/3 (£l9lO/15/6); Mataura Borough, £798/12/9 (£729/19/11); Wyndham town district, £221 2/10 (£176/6/7); Lumsden town district, £lOB/12/9 (£99/4/4); Winton Borough, £444 13/5 £(395/17/5); Bluff Borough, £727/15/(£647/11/11); Stewart Island County, £l6O 3/2 (£147/10/11).
