WESTERN DISTRICT PIPE BAND.— The annual meeting of the Western District Pipe Band was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall. Mr G. McLeod presided over a good attendance of members. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr G. McLeod* vice-presidents, Messrs A. P. McDonald and W. Diack; secretary and treasurer, Mr B. Patterson. After the business was concluded, the annual haggis dinner was held. Pipers played the haggis into the hall, where it was addressed by Mr McGregor Wilson, of Invercargill. A feature of the evening’s entertainment was the items contributed by Invercargill visitors, Messrs R- Kelman, McGregor Wilson and Wellsford, who conducted community singing Other items were given by Messrs H. Laurence, A. Henderson, A. McClymont and Taylor (Riverton).
