MACARTHY TRUST

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 18. The annual meeting of the Macarthy Trust was presided over by the Governor-Gen-eral. A total distribution of £14,000 was approved, bringing the amount since the trust was established to £309,467. The principal benefits this year are: £650 to the Home of Compassion, Island Bay; £6OO to the Wellington City Mission; £550 to St. Joseph’s Orphanage. Upper Hutt; £5OO to the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum; £450 to the Mayor’s Metropolitan Relief Committee; £425 to St. Mary’s Guild, Wellington; £4OO to the St. Vincent de Pau! Society, Wellington; and £430 to the Salvation Army Men’s Home.
