BATTLEDRESS FOR AIRMEN

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 18. Flying personnel of the Royal New Zealand Air Force are now being issued with battledress similar in design to that worn by the Army. The dress is made of the same material as the uniform worn by the men of the R.N.Z.A.F. and is Air Force blue in colour. It will not be worn off stations. The Royal Air Force adopted battledress for air crews and fighter pilots 20 months ago. Some New Zealand officers returned from overseas are wearing it while serving at Dominion stations. Battledress is particularly suitable for flying operations because it is more comfortable and has greater serviceability.
