Occasional Rain
(Special) WELLINGTON, August 18. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Fresh to strong north-westerly to westerly winds. The weather cloudy with occasional rain, especially in the western ranges; temperatines moderate.
The weather in Invercargill yesterday was overcast with a strong northerly wind. Heavy rain fell in the late afternoon. At 1 o’clock this morning rain was falling and there was a light westerly wind. The barometer reaidng was 29.61 in (fallin|h e Tides.— High water, Invercargill, 8.08 am- 8-38 pm. Bluff, 7.27 a.m.; 7.57 p.m. Riverton, 6.27 a.m.; 6.57 p.m. Oreti Beach, 6.36 a.m.; 7.06 p.m. The Sun.—Rises 7.41 a.m.; sets, 6 p.m.
