DR BARNARDO’S LEAGUE.— The Makarewa branch of the Dr Bamai'do’s League held its box-opening recently, when the members were entertained at afternoon tea by the president, Mrs Roxburgh, who had gone to a considerable amount of trouble to give the children a good time. As a result of the box-opening the sum of nearly £8 was gathered. The children are to be commended on their splendid effort.
