VICTORY ART UNION

A report that £llO7 had been received from the sale of Victory Art Union tickets was received by the publicity committee of the Southland Provincial Patriotic Council yesterday. It was stated that except for £l5 from Bluff, the whole of the amount had been the result of city efforts. The women workers who had handled the sale of tickets were congratulated on the good progress made. Hopes were expressed that country district sellers would work energetically during the next fortnight before the closing of the art union. The women’s committees were asked to make a special final drive on Friday, August 28. It was reported that £15,000 was still required to complete the provincial quota by September 30. and schemes for raising the money were discussed.
