NATIONAL SAVINGS.— For the thirtyninth week in succession the Invercargill quota of £2043 for National Savings was reached. On Saturday morning £1352 still remained to be raised, but as a result of energetic efforts by the district organizer (Mr W. G. Nield) the required total was reached.

OYSTER BOATS OUT.—With the improvement in the weather last week the oyster fleet resumed operations. There have also been some good catches of fish reported, and crayfish particularly are in good supply-
