WALLACE EARLY SETTLERS

The annual meeting of the Wallace Early Settlers’ Association was held in Riverton on Saturday. Mr George Carmichael (Thornbury) presided. Regret was expressed in the annual report that through inability to obtain a building permit the association had been unable to proceed with its programme, but the plans had been adopted. The financial statement showed assets totalling £BOO. Mr Carmichael was re-elected president and Messrs J. Nuttall (Longwood) and G. Willis (Gummies Bush) and Mrs S. Haslemore (South Riverton) vice-presidents. Mr D. C. Robertson is treasurer, Mr H. Spear secretary and Mr E. B. Patrick auditor. Mr Tracy King was added to the committee, which is the same as last year’s. . It was decided to hold the annual reunion on Saturday, September 5.
