GIRLS’ HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR

Sweet young voices blending in part singing and pitching true in solo work delighted a large audience at the Victoria Concert Chamber last evening. They were the well-trained voices ot the Southland Girls’ High School choir, a school institution which has greatly developed the musical talent of the pupils in recent years. In addition to part songs and sextettes the girls of the choir presented an operetta and a cantata. All of their work bore the hallmark of careful learning. A feature was the perfect balance which was maintained in the part songs. The girls and their conductor, (Miss M. B. Campbell) were warmly applauded. The proceeds from the concert are to be used for patriotic purposes. The accompanists were Elaine Hulse and Hazel Christie. The recital will be repeated in the Victoria Concert Chamber tomorrow night.
