RADIO AND TELEPHONE PATRIOTIC APPEAL

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 13. A Dominion-wide combined radio and telephone appeal has been arranged for Saturday night as part of the campaign to raise the balance of the funds required for all patriotic purposes in the current year. The competitive spirit will be introduced by the pitting of zone against zone and province against province. Arrangements have been made with the Post and Telegraph Department for donations to be telephoned without fee to the nearest telephone exchange where no patriotic committee exists, and in other cases for subscribers to ring local patriotic committees from 7 pan. to 9 pan. in country districts and from 7 pan. to 10 pan. in the larger centres. -
