“MORE BRIGHT SPOTS” IN WAR NEEDED
(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) CLEVELAND, Aug. 13. The Under-Secretary of War, Mr R. P. Patterson, speaking at the ceremonies of the Army and Navy production award to the White Motor Company, said: “I wish I could tell you that the war is going well, but it isn’t. We are still on the defensive. This duty is a bright spot in a dark war. We need more bright spots. There is only one alternative waiting at the end of the road: ‘Victory or death.’”
