BAN ON POTATO SUPPLIES

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 13. In reply to a question the Minister of Supply, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, stated that apart from stocks of potatoes held by retailers throughout the Dominion, no further release of potatoes could be made for civilian use in the meantime. The Minister said he realized that the stocks held by the retail trade were very limited, but the position demanded that this curtailment of consumption should be institued until further supplies became available. '
