(Special) WELLINGTON, August 10. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Fresh north-westerly winds prevailing; the weather cloudy with rain at times; temperatures moderate.
The weather in Invercargill yesterday was fine and mild, but overcast during the greater part of the day.
At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was calm and clear. The barometer reading was 29.87 in (steady). THE TIDES—High water, Invercargill, 2.7 a.m. and 2.29 p.m.; Bluff, 1.26 a.m. and 1.48 p.m.; Riverton, 12.26 a.m. and 12.48 p.m.; Oreti Beach. 12.35 a.m. and 12.57 p.m. THE SUN—Rises 7.56 a.m.; sets 5.49 p.m.
