Milk Consumption The average consumption of milk a head of population in Australia is only about lOoz a day, it was disclosed in dairy statistics released by the Commonwealth Statistician, Dr Roland Wilson. About 13.3 per cent, of Australia’s milk production is used in its natural form for human consumption and other purposes. Of the average consumption in the last recorded five years—l,lso,ooo,ooo gallons—79.s per cent, was used to make butter, 4.2 per cent, for cheese, and 2.5 per cent, for condensed and powdered milk.
