FUNCTION FOR MARIST OLD BOYS
MEMBERS LEAVING FOR CAMP ENTERTAINED
A function in honour of 18 members of the Marist Old Boys’ football and cricket clubs who are going into camp with the 4th Reinforcements was held in St. Mary’s hall on Thursday evening. The Rev. Father J. Murphy presided. The chairman congratulated the members on the step they had taken and expressed the hope that they would soon return.
Other speakers were the president of the Marist Football Club, Mr J. R. Brown, and Messrs H. Grace, T. V. Mahoney and J. Fenton, who wished the departing members success. ■ Congratulations were also extended to Mr M. P. Grace on his recent marriage, and he was presented with a wood box by Father Murphy, who wished him success. Mr H. F. Grace was presented with a travelling bag as. a mark of appreciation of the services he had given to the cricket club.
The members in the 4th Reinforcements are: M. P. Grace, H. F. Grace, A. H. Shepherd, E. V. Wright, N. F. McGowan, W. Fraser, F. Fraser, P. Connolly, P. B. Ferry, G. Moir, J. T. Fletcher, J. Fletcher, M. Ryan, A. Brariks, B. Butler, J. H. Derbie, M. McCormack and J. Stapleton.
