PRIZE OF £200 TO GORE
“Lucky Scoop” Art Union ONE SMALL AMOUNT TO INVERCARGILL (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 27. The “Lucky Scoop” art union was drawn this morning when the principal prizes were won by the following: First prize, £2000: 87914 “Nescio,” a Te Kuiti butt. Second prize £1000: 135655 “Forget-me-Not,” Wellington. Third prize, £500: 57930 “Lucky 13,’ Auckland. Fourth prize, £400: 144280 “Newmore,” Dunedin. Fifth prize, £300: 117906 “For a Rainy Day,” Waiau, Canterbury. Sixth nrize, £200: Mrs J, C. and “E.R.E.,” 17 Medway street, Gore. Seventh prize, £100: 137992 “Lucky Triplets,” Waller street, Murchison. The following £5 prize came to Invercargill: 132723, “Douglas,” 64 Short street, Invercargill.
The holder of the ticket which gained the sixth prize of £2OO is Mrs Isobelle Ure Aitken, wife of the late Mr Andrew Aitken, Medway street, Gore. When informed of her good fortune yesterday Mrs Aitken was overjoyed at the result, and stated that she could hardly believe her luck. The ticket was bought at the shop of a Gore tobacconist.
