Cousin Betty’s Letter

My dear Cousins, Ideas have ccme pouring in this week, so I will tell you some o_ them and you can let me know which you think are the best. Perhaps you can even improve on these suggestions or send some ideas of your own. Most of my Cousins, however, think that the clans could each hold some function, a small concert, a play, a rattle or competition, a community sing, or a party in their own district, an so do their part in the Little Southlanders’ effort to raise funds tor patriotic use. What do the clans think of this suggestion? Laptains and secretaries, ask the members of your clan if they have any ideas for an activity of their very own. Scattered Cousins wno do not belong to a clan or cannot join with other Cousins in a combined effort could send a few pence earned by selling bottles, doing odd jobs, or in some other way. No matter where you live there must be some way you can help. „ , , In addition to all these individual efforts a fancy-dress parade and entertainment will be held soon, so take out your fancy costumes, give them a good brush up, put in the stitch in time that saves nine, and prepare them for the great event. When the arrangements have been made other details will be given. - Read Cousin Iris Winsloe’s best letter of the week and see what this Little Southlander thinks about our patriotic work. Did you look at the magic aeroplane in the Chronicle last Saturday? On visiting day my Cousins kept their eyes fixed on the magic aeroplane while they counted thirty then looked at the creamcoloured wall of Cousin Betty’s room. Sure enough, each one saw the aeroplane on the wall. Did you try it? It would be interesting to colour the plane in the colours suggested and note the results. Put on your best thinking caps for a patriotic effort. Your loving
