CABIN BOY LOST OVERBOARD
FRUITLESS SEARCH AT WELLINGTON (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 26. As his ship, an overseas trader, was leaving harbour last night, H. Carr, aged 19, of Cardiff (England), a cabin boy, disappeared overboard near Ward Island. A ship’s boat was manned to look for him and the examination vessel, Janie Seddon, which was at the Heads was signalled and left her station to assist. The water was choppy owing to a fresh northerly and despite a two-hour search, the lad was not found.
