Hall beat F. Anderson. 15-5, 15-4; A. Farrant a bye; C. Nelson beat A. Farrant, 15-5, 15-8; J. Hall a bye. Final.— C. Nelson beat J. Hall, 15-4, 15-10. Women’s Singles (Pettersson Cup).Mrs Landrebe beat Miss A. Nelson, 11-0, 11-5; Miss E. Mcßride beat Miss McSoriley, 7-11, 11-8, 11-9; Mrs A. Inglis beat Miss McNeil, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6; Mrs Landrebe beat Miss Mcßride’ H-4, 11-9; Mrs A. Inglis a bye. Final.— Mrs Landrebe beat Mrs A. Inglis, 11-2,
Women’s Doubles.—Misses Farrant and Nelson beat Miss Mcßride and Mrs A. Inglis, 15-14, 14-15, 15-3; Mrs Landrebe and Miss McSoriley a bye. Final. Mrs Landrebe and Miss McSoriley beat Misses Farrant and Nelson, 15-11, 15-6. Mixed Doubles.—A. Farrant and Mrs Landrebe beat C. Inglis and Miss Farrant, 15-7, 15-11; J. Hall and F. McNeil beat F. Anderson and Mrs A. Inglis, 15-2, 15-11; C. Nelson and Miss Nelson beat J. Taylor and Miss McBride, 8-15, 15-5, 15-11; T. Luckie and Miss McSoriley a bye; A. Farrant and Mrs Landrebe beat T. Luckie and Miss McSoriley, 15-14, 15-7; C. Nelson and Miss Nelson beat J. Hall and Miss McNeill, 15-4, 15-8. Final.—C. Nelson and Miss Nelson beat A. Farrant and Mrs Landrebe, 15-9, 15-10. > PADDY’S MARKET About £6O was raised in Queenstown when a Paddy’s market was held in the Garrison Hall. Many willing workers helped to make the sale a success and many donations of cakes, produce and so on were received. Members of the Arrowtown Fire Brigade were in charge of the sideshows and members of the Queenstown Patriotic Committee, under the direction of Mr E. Sharpe, were in charge of the stalls.
In the evening a dance was run, there
being a fair Music was supplied by McSoriley’s Orchestra, Mr R. McSoriley being master of ceremonies.
Winners of the raffles were: Dinner, Ray Landrebe; quarter ton coal, Mrs J. Chalmers; iced cake, Miss F. McBride.
