SENTENCE OF DEATH COMMUTED
MAN CONVICTED OF WAIHI MURDER (United Press Association) , WELLINGTON, September 25. At a meeting of the Executive Council this morning the death sentence on Douglas Herbert Cartman, who was convicted of the Waihi murder, was commuted to imprisonment for life.
