CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
PART IN FITNESS RALLY It was reported at the monthly meeting of directors of the Caledonian Society last night that the society was assisting in the national fitness rally at Rugby Park on Saturday by staging some bushcraft events. To save the expense of buying logs several of the directors had spent a day. in cutting logs themselves. The annual report of the Southland Centre of the New Zealand Axemen’s, Cycling and Athletic Union was received, and Messrs V. S. Vial, R. G. Diack and W. Young were appointed the society’s delegates to attend the annual meeting. After a discussion on the advisability of holding the annual games in January it was decided that any decision be 'postponed until the next meeting of directors; in the meantime, a small sub-committee was appointed to go fully into the many factors concerned in the running of a meeting. Mr A. St. C. MacGregor (chairman) presided over Messrs W. Young, R. D. Donaldson, E. M. Sutton, V. S. Vial, P. Scott, A. McDonald, H. C. Kelly, F. Sharp, D. W. Anderson, J. M. Mackintosh, R. G. Diack, J. T. Qualter, A. E. Cocker and the secretary (Mr M. C. Wilson).
