ALICE FAYE’S NEW PICTURE

ACADEMY AWARD WINNERS IN SUPPORTING ROLES

Alice Faye is to be the leading figure in “Down on the Wabash,” and in this she will be supported by three Academy Award winners. “Down Argentine Way” was to have been Alice Faye’s next starring vehicle, but the star had to undergo an operation on the day the rehearsals began, and Betty Grable took her place in the cast. Miss Faye was put into “Down on the Wabash” as soon as she had fully recovered.

Miss Faye is among the chief moneyearning stars, and Twentieth CenturyFox intends to assign her to as many pictures as she is able to make in the near future.

The Academy Award winners who will be seen with her in “Down on the Wabash” are Fay Bainter, Walter Brennan and Hattie Mac Daniel.

Brenda Joyce and John Payne are also in the cast of the new film.
