During an anti-aircraft demonstration in Wanganui a private asked a small boy in the crowd to get him some sandwiches. The boy came back to say that the sort required were not obtainable. He was sent back for othersHowever, the platoon moved on before the boy returned and the soldier thought he had said good-bye to his 2/- and sandwiches. Just before midnight a parcel of sandwiches and the change was delivered at the camp.
