INVERCARGILL STOCK EXCHANGE INDUSTRIALS RECEIVE ATTENTION Firm inquiry continues to come (or Government loans, the longer-dated issues showing a very firm front. Banks were quiet and steady on the Invercargill Stock Exchange yesterday. Woollens were steady to firm and Southland Frozen Meats moved up to £l/15/9, with no sellers below £l/17/-. The Dunedin Stock Agents’ and Wool Brokers’ Association reports that at today’s rabbitskin sale • the quantities were smaller, the total submitted being approximately 33 tons The quality has deteriorated considerably since the last sale, a big proportion of summers,

springs and outgoings being on offer. Competition was keen, all grades being in request. Bucks on an average depreciated 2d to 6d, while does ruled par to 3d higher. Hatters also met a firm market. First bucks sold to 104 d, second bucks IOOd, first does 91|d, second does 82d, spotted bucks 84|d, spotted does 71|d, and furrier does 79Ad. Values have kept up remarkably well this season and on the prices paid today trapping is still payable. FINAL DIVIDEND OF 9D A SHARE SOUTH BRITISH INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 24 A final dividend of 9d a share plus a bonus of 3d a share is to be recommended by the directors of the South British Insurance Company Limited at the annual meeting of shareholders to be held on October 24. If it is approved, the dividend will be paid the same day. An interim dividend of BJd a share was paid in April last, thus the total distribution for the year ended August 31, including the bonus, will be 1/8J a share, equal to 17 1-12 per cent., against 1/5 a share or 14 1-6 per cent, in the previous year.
