DECEPTION USED TO GAIN ADMITTANCE

MAN FOUND UNLAWFULLY AT WIGRAM AIR STATION (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, September 23. Passing himself off as a member of the Air Force, Clarence Reginald Burt, aged 32, gained admittance to Wigram air station, but when taken to the guard room his deception was discovered. Burt was charged today with being unlawfully on the station, and it was then

| revealed that he had passed himself off as a commissioned Air Force officer to gain admittance to the Union Jack Club. Once before Burt had been found at Wigram in suspicious circumstances and he had been warned off. Last Tuesday Burt knocked on a pilot’s bedroom door and said that he had been instructed to report for training. When accommodation was arranged the deception, was discovered. Burt had no connection with Wigram, but was taking the educational course sponsored by the Air Department “They are not taking men with this record?” asked the Magistrate (Mr E.
