GOODS TRANSPORT LICENCES

APPLICATIONS FOR RENEWAL Applications for the renewal cf goods service licences were heard yesterday in Invercargill by the No. 4 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr S. V. Raines). Mr K. Davies represented the Transport Department and Mr F. G. Craig the Railways Department. Mr G. E. T. Dorman, representing the Southland District Motor Transport Association, was also present. The following carriers’ licences were renewed: W. G. Austin, Tuatapere; J. W. Dick, Waipango; B. C. Hancock, Riverton; J. A. Hobbs, Tuatapere; D. T. King and Co., Ltd., Pukemaori; J. King Ltd., Tuatapere; Nicholson Bros., Gladfield R.D.; E. C. Renowden, Otautau;. H. C. Robins, Tuatapere; D. L. Black, Ermedale; A. J. Bone, Orepuki; E. J. Goodall, Orawia; H. F. Laurie, Otautau; A. and E. Wadsworth, Riverton; T. White, Riverton. In the cases of B. C. Hancock and D. T. King and Co., Ltd., the licences were granted with the proviso that the exemptiorf on the carriage of racehorses outside the 30-mile limit was revoked. Decisions in the cases of the applications of J. Clive, Otahuu R.D., W. Allison, .Gladfield R.D., and W. G. T. Lemon, Tuatapere, were reserved and the application of S. E. James, Aparima, and Officer Bros., Otautau, were adjourned.
