THORNBURY
FAREWELL SOCIAL A joint farewell social was tendered to Mr F. Webb (stationmaster)' and Mr E. Ritchie, of the Post Office staff, before their departure to Invercargill on transfer. There was a large attendance. Messrs F. Finnie (senior railway clerk), A. Mitchell, W. Haywood, G. Smith (postmaster), H. Haywood, A. Crack, G. Crack, W. Urquhart, J. Blair, R. Lindsay, A. Langmuir, J. Foster, N. Baird, C. Churton and T. Jenkins spoke of the esteem in which the guests were held.
Messrs Webb and Ritchie replied.
