HOMING PIGEON RACING

RESULTS OF LATEST EVENT

Two more races were conducted during the week by the Invercargill Homing Pigeon Society. The stationmaster at Oamaru liberated 50 pigeons at 8 a.m. in dull weather. The first bird timed in in four hours.

Results: E. Gibb (1149yds a minute) 1; H. Strang (1122.6yd5) 2; D. Strang (1120.6yd5) 3. Other members timed in in the following order: R. E. Huffadine 1120.3; R. Ross 118.4; R. Wilson 1103; R. Calvert 1091.4; M. Pasco 1042.6. The stationmaster at Waikouaiti liberated 80 hen birds at 8 a.m. in dull weather. The first bird was timed in in three hours. Results: R. Calvert (1193.9yd5) 1; R. E. Huffadine (1190.5) 2; H. Strang (1188.7) 3. Other members who timed in were: D. Strang (1185.1); R. Ross (1182.6); E. Gibb (1175.9), R. Wilson (1157).
