VIRUS OF INFANTILE PARALYSIS

(Received September 19, 8.50 p.m.) STOCKHOLM, September 18. M. Karl Lking, Chief of the State Bacteriological Research, reports that he has successfully isolated the virus of infantile paralysis. He has concluded that the infection spreads chiefly indirectly like typhoid, dysentry and cholera like typhoid, directly as the result of personal contact. The live virus was found in butter made with contaminated water.
