OTAUTAU CLUB’S MEETING CREDIT BALANCE ON YEAR’S WORKING The balance-sheet of the Otautau Tennis Club, presented at the annual meeting showed receipts amounting to £29/8/4 and expenditure £29/4/1, leaving a credit-balance of 4/3. The assets amounted to £2lO/4/3, and the liabilities were nil. Mr A. Harrington, president, presided. The chairman .said the financial position was satisfactory and the club was indebted to some of the younger members for running a dance, which had enabled them to show a small credit on the year's working. The pavilion had been painted and the courts were in good order. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected: President, Mr A. Harrington; vicepresidents, Mrs W. Owen, Messrs H. Macpherson and A. Baird; secretary, Mr H. Chandler; general committee, president, vice-presidents and secretary, Mrs W. O’Toole, Misses D. Humphries and M. ( Campbell, and Mr W. Brown; selectors, Mrs W. Owen and Mr A. Harrington; signing officers, president and secretary; social committee, Mrs W. Owen, Misses D. Humphries and M. Ballam; delegates to Western District Sub-Association, the president, secretary and Mr H. Macpherson. It was decided to leave the-entering of teams in the Western District competition in the hands of the delegates to the sub-association and the general committee. Subscription was fixed at 15/- for women, 25/- for men, secondary school pupils 5/-, and primary school children 2/6. Opening day was fixed for Saturday, October' 5. Four new members were elected. RYAL BUSH CLUB OFFICERS ELECTED AT ANNUAL MEETING
The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Ryal Bush Tennis Club:—President, Mr Royce Buxton; vice-presidents, Mr Nelson Shaw and Mr J. Kennedy; honorary secretary, Mr W. Fraser; honor-
ary treasurer, Mr A. Wilson; club captain, Mr J. Kennedy; deputy club captain, Mr R. Buxton; committee, Messrs I. G. Maclennan, R. Patterson, V. Clark, W. Paddon, J. O’Connor, Mrs A. Wilson, Miss June Buxton ladder’ secretary, Mrs I. Maclennan.
Subscriptions for the season were fixed at: Men 7/6,' women 5/-, juniors 2/-.
It was decided to open the season on October 5 with an open tournament. COLLEGIATE CLUB A large number of members attended at the annual meeting of the Collegiate Tennis Club.
Free membership was granted to four students of the college and subscriptions were fixed at the same rates as last year with a junior subscription of 5/- for students who had left the college during this year. The following office-bearers were elected:—Patron, Mr C. A. Stewart; president, Mr W. Weeds; vice-presi-dents, Miss M. G. Watson and Mr V. Vial; club captain, Mr L. Beal; deputycaptain, Mr I. Walker; secretary and treasurer, Miss M. James; auditor, Mr P. A. Anderson; delegate to Southland Lawn Tennis Association, Mr W. Weeds; committee, Misses A. (Cameron and B. Clarkson, Messrs L. Insall and J. Taggart.
Opening day was fixed for October 5 at 2 p.m.
