RHODES SCHOLARSHIP NOMINATIONS

TWO FROM VICTORIA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

WELLINGTON, September 17.

Victoria University College nominations for Rhodes Scholarships' were decided by the Professorial Board today. They are:— Norman Andrew Morrison, at present a pilot officer engaged in instructional duties at Wigram. Ronald John Corkill, a member of the staff correspondence school, Welling-

ton. Mr Morrison, who is aged 24, is an L.L.B. and is sitting for his L.L.M. this year.

Mr Corkill is aged 24, is a B.A. and holds the Diploma of Education. He is sitting for honours in English this year.

Whether the New Zealand Rhodes Scholars will go to Oxford next year is still uncertain. The Rhodes trustees have authorized the selection of 1941 scholars, but have reserved the right not to take them at Oxford if the circumstances do not warrant it.
