WORK OF LADY GALWAY PATRIOTIC GUILD (United Pmss Association) WELLINGTON, September 16. Lady Galway has received a letter from Sir Harry Batterbee, High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in New Zealand, saying that he had been asked on behalf of his Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom to convey through her to members of her committee and all helpers an expression of the most warm thanks for the generous gifts of clothing and so on for refugees which were being sent to England by the guild. The work done by so large a number of willing workers was most warmly appreciated and was one more evidence of the desire on the part of the people of New Zealand to play their part in the common war effort.
