ROYAL LANCER AT LONG ODDS

WIN AT ASHBURTON MEETING WINNING RIVAL WINS BIG HANDICAP (United Press Association) ASHBURTON, September 14. The Ashburton County Racing Club’s spring meeting was held in fine but windy weather. The course was in excellent condition and the attendance was a large one. The totalizator handled £18,094/10/-, compared with £11,942/10/- last year. The Judicial Committee decided that Whiphand, ridden by C. T. Wilson, had been interfered with in the Novice Stakes by Jolly Time, ridden by B. H. Brodie. Brodie was severely reprimanded and the trainer, R. Pentecost, warned as to the horse’s run-ning-about habits.
