AMERICAN CLIPPER DUE TODAY
PASSENGERS ON FIRST REGULAR SERVICE (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 15. On her way to Auckland on the first regular passenger flight of the South Pacific air service the Pan American Airways American Clipper reached Noumea at 5.5 o’clock this afternoon from Canton Island. The clipper is scheduled to leave Noumea tomorrow morning and to alight at Auckland in the afternoon. Captain Kenneth Beer is in command.
Several of the passengers, of whom there are 15 on the final stage of the flight, will continue to Australia by the Tasman Empire Airways service on Tuesday. The clipper also has a quantity of mail and freight. for New Zealand and more for Australia.
The following are among the passengers: Mrs Anna Register, Miss Ann Register, Miss Elizabeth Stuart, Miss Barbara Welch, Miss Clara Adams, Messrs F. Emerson, Melton Untermeyer, William Robinson, William Hock, Julius Rapoport, Harold Stuart, James McVittie, and Mulhearn.
