FARCE FOR WINTON
“ELIZA COMES TO STAY” “Eliza Comes To Stay” is the title of the three-act farce to be presented in the Theatre Royal, Winton, on Tuesday evening, September 17, under the auspices of the Winton Patriotic Association. The “plot” is centred in the coming of Eliza (an unknown quantity) to make her home with the Hon. Sandy Verrail. The poor child has been left an orphan, and naturally her arrival is awaited with some trepidation and excitement among Sandy’s circle. “It worries me, ya’ know, it worries me very much,” says Sandy, “Ye see, I’ve never had a child before.” The situation develops rapidly and becomes a cloud on the Verrall horizon. Sparkling humour, tense atmospheres, complications one on top of another, are grouped in bright array from the opening scene to the curtain drop. “Eliza | Comes To Stay” promises excellent entertainment and already bookings are heavy.
