FUTURE TALKS ON DANUBE

Russia Demands Voice In Conferences

INTIMATION GIVEN TO

GERMANY

(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright)

(Received September 13,11.30 p.m.) LONDON, September 13. Russia has informed Germany that, as a State with a Danubian frontier, she must take part in any discussions affecting the Danubian States. A statement to this effect was issued in Moscow by the Tass News Agency. Russia has also protested against an incident on the Russo-Rumanian frontier on Wednesday when, it is alleged, Soviet frontier guards were fired on from the Rumanian side. The Rumanian Ambassador, Dr Grigore Gafencu has given an assurance that the incident will be investigated.

There has been more trouble in Transylvania over the- transfer of territory from Rumania to Hungary. An Hungarian policeman is said to have shot a member of Dr Julio Maniu’s Rumanian Peasant Party which has opposed the cession of land, and a Rumanian tank is alleged to have knocked down a triumphal arch erected by the Hungarians before taking over one town. The arch contained photographs, of Hitler, Mussolini and Admiral Nicholas Horthy, Regent of Hungary.

Rumania is anxious about her German minority, demands on whose behalf have been made to the Prime Minister, General Antonescu.
