COLOUR FILMS OF SCENIC RESORTS
MEETING OF PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY
Striking colour films of some of Southland’s delightful scenic resorts were shown last night at a meeting of the Southland Photographic Society by Dr James Ramsay. The films included scenes of Lake Wakatipu, Lake Te Anau, the Hollyford Valley and the Homer tunnel. Some delightful shots
of Invercargill and Dunedin were also shown. Mr D.. E. Owens, president, presided over a good attendance. The constitution rules were adopted and the society is now a properlyconstituted body. The question of instructing beginners was discussed and it was decided that a full programme of instructions be presented at the next meeting.
A field day is to be held in the public gardens on Sunday, September 22, and beginners will be shown how to make proper use of their cameras. Members will also be given an opportunity of taking prints, which will be exhibited at the next meeting. Mr Ivan O’Brien was appointed to the vacancy on the executive caused by the enlistment of Mr E. Barwell.
