TISBURY TENNIS CLUB
SUCCESSFUL SEASON REVIEWED "The past season was successful both financially and from, a social point of view/’, states the annual report of tne Tisbury Tennis Club. The A team was again runner-up m the B grade competition and was unlucky in being beaten in a hard match with Invercargill by two sets, continues the report. The B team was composed of young players and with more match practice would develop into a strong combination. Two of the club s prominent B grade players were not playing last season and it was hoped to see Mrs R. Ferguson and Miss E. McChesney playing again. ' The club had lost two or three of its members now serving overseas and members wished them the best of luck and a speedy return. . , The club’s finances were in a healthy state, there being enough money to pay all debts and to start the 1940-41 season with no debit. .The courts were in failorder, but would be in first-class condition for the opening day.
