WEDDING

FAHEY—DEEGAN The marriage was celebrated at St. Mary’s Basilica, Tyne street, of Constance, twin daughter of Mrs Edward Deegan and the late Mr Deegan, and Patrick, second son of Mr and Mrs John Fahey, Waimatua. The Rev. Father J. McKay performed the ceremony and celebrated Nuptial Mass, and Miss Rose Shepherd played the wedding music. The bride, who was given away by her god father, Mr P. Prendergast, wore a gown of white bridal satin cut on classical lines. The bridesmaids were Miss Ita Deegan, twin sister of the bride, and Miss Joan Deegan, another sister. They wore slim-fitting frocks of cyclamen and blue ninon. Mr Charles Montague, of Waimatua, was best man, and Mr Andrew McCallum, of Isla Bank, was groomsman. The reception was held at the resi- i dence of the bride's sister, Mrs J. Dowling, where the guests were re-

ceived by the mothers of the bride and bridegroom. Mr and Mrs P. Fahey will live in Hawera. Before her marriage the bride was entertained by Mrs T. Newell and Miss D. Robertson, also at a surprise party by friends at Waimatua.
