. Fair To Fine (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, September 11. [ Following is the special forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office:— Light to moderate and variable winds, later tending to northwesterly. Weather fair to fine, with moderate temperatures. Seas slight. Following is the Dominion forecast:— Weather for the most part fair to fine with scattered showers continuing in the Hawke’s Bay area, however, but becoming less frequent tomorrow. Cool tonight with frosts in the South Island but temperatures moderate to- ' morrow. General Situation.—An anti-cyclone covers the Sea and southern New Zealand, while a vigorous depression is centred east of the Chatham Islands. Winds.—Southerly predominating, light to moderate in force over the South Island, later becoming variable in direction; fresh to strong but decreasing over the North Island. Seas (New Zealand waters). —Rough between East Cape, and Kaikoura and North Kawhia, elsewhere slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea.— Southerly winds, fresh to strong, but decreasing in the northern portion with rough seas; light to moderate in the south with slight seas.
