CLEARING SALE AT BALFOUR

GOOD PRICES SECURED The National Mortgage and Agency Company Limited conducted a successful clearing sale at Dalfour on behalf of Mr J. M. Alexander, who has sold his farm to remove to Timaru.

There was a good demand for the stock, the ewes and hoggets being brought out in first-class condition, and good prices were secured. Implements and sundries sold at market rates.

Sales were: One hundred and eighty 2, 4 and 6-tooth ewes at 37/1, 88 f. and f.m. ewes at 22/-, 110 8-tooth ewes at 27/7, 95 ewe hoggets at 31/7, 12 m.s. hoggets at 17/8, 1 fat wether at 31/-, 3 rams at 15/6, 8 at 8/-, 1 cow and calf at £5/15/-, 1 cow and calf at £6, 1 bull at £4, 1 yearling heifer at £l, 1 8-year gelding at £l5/10/-, 1 8-year mare at £l3, 1 5-year mare at £l5, 1 aged mare at £3, 1 aged gelding at £l, 1 at £l, 1 4-year filly at £lO/10/-, 1 8-year gelding at £17,1 7-year gelding at £l7.

The principal implement sales were: Dray at £ll, broadcaster at £2O/10/-, binder at £2l, drill at £l3/10/-, grass harrows at £2/5/-, roller at £l3, three-furrow plough at £3O, disk harrows at £l2/10/-, tine harrows at £ll, lime sower at £lB, waggon at £l5. A hut was sold at £4O and oaten sheaf stacks at £ ,t ' £25 and P.22/10/-.
