LOSS OF ELECTRIC CABLE

(United Press Association)

WESTPORT, September 9. The Westport Borough Council has been advised that 35 miles of electric cable intended for use in linking Denniston electrically with Westport was on' a liner which has been sunk by enemy action. The cable was expected to arrive very soon.

This loss will mean that Westport must continue to endure black-outs at night unless there is heavy or plentiful rainfall, as the. water in Lake Rochfort, at present the main source of supply of electric current, is still very low.
