SNOWBALL FAIR A successful Snowball Fair arranged by the Young Ladies’ Guild of the Bluff Methodist Church and Mrs T. Stewart was held in the church hall. A novelty effect was the suspension of the parcels for sale from streamers across the hall. Those responsible had worked hard to make a success of the function and the church funds were considerably supplemented. Stall-holders were: Works, Mrs B. Parkes; sweets, Misses Joyce Edginton and Mina Robinson; flower, Misses Marjory and Eileen Wilson; jellies, Misses Molly Johnson and Norma and Ila Johnston; supper, Mrs H. Walker.
Items were contributed by Mrs L. Newman (violin obbligato by Miss Hunter), Mr C. McDonald (songs), Messrs P. Metzger and Alan Lee (accordion solos and duets); sketch, Miss M. Johnson, the Rev. J. S. Willoughby and Mr C. McDonald. The accompanists were Misses M. McKenzie and L. Hunter. Games and competitions were also held. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT The weekly euchre tournament winners were: Mesdames E. Murphy and G. Applegarth and Messrs W. Oxley and N. Hayward. The aggregate winners for the past seven weeks were Mesdames W. Parry and J. Vincent.
