Messrs Donald Reid and Co., Ltd., report as under: —■ Oats.—Tills market continues firm, and as the bulk of the grade oats have been disposed of it is safe to say that the firmness will continue until next harvest. No doubt the poor crops up north are primarily responsible for the values ruling. Millers appear to have ample stocks but the seed season will absorb a large quantity. A grade Gartons are worth 3/3, B grade 3/1 sacks extra, less commission, on trucks, farmers stations. A little extra can generally be obtained for choice lines. Wheat.—This market has quietened down considerably, and only an odd sample is offering. Millers have not yet completed taking delivery of their purchases, but they anticipate once everything is delivered that they will have ample stocks. Pool prices advance Id from June 1, but very little Pool wheat remains to be sold in this locality. Tuscan is still worth 5/9; Hunters and Velvet 5/11, sacks extra, on trucks, country stations. Chaff.—The position as regards this commodity is brighter than it has been for months. A little shipping has been done, and this has absorbed a lot of chaff that in ordinary circumstances would have ' accumulated in store. Canterbury is also conspicuous this season with an absence of offerings.*Good bright oaten sheaf is worth from £5 5/- to £5 10/- sacks extra, ex truck, Dunedin. Potatoes.—There is still a decided quietness on this market. Canterbury reports large crops and are offering freely. Local merchants, however, are still working on their forward purchases, and are not inclined to stock up any quantity. Best tables are realizing up to £5 sacks in, ex truck, Dunedin, but very few sales are being effected. DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, yeport having received the following advice from their head office, London, under date of June 2, 1930: — Dairy Produce.—New Zealand cheese 1/to 2/- higher.
