NEW CHAIRMAN
BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION.
(British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) ’ Rugby, June 3. The Postmaster-General, Mr H. B. LeesSmith, has announced that the Prime Minister had recommended Mr J. H. Whitly, formerly Speaker of the House of Commons, for appointment as chairman of. the British Broadcasting Corporation to succeed Lord Clarendon, who recently resigned.
