BLUFF NOTES
(From Our Correspondent.) The members of the Nau Mai Dance Club held a very successful and ..enjoyable ■dance in Barber’s Hall on Monday evening. The floor was in excellent order for dancing and about 50 couples attended. Music was supplied lay Miss D. Kerr, extras being played by Messrs J. Dixon and N. Bradshaw. The officers and engineers of the motor vessel Raigitata and of, thg Hororata were the guests of the evening. Quite a large crowd journeyed down from Invercargill' and the surrounding dis-, •tri'cts on the:King’s Birthday. The centre of attraction was the New Zealand Shipping Company’s new liner Rangitata. A stream of visitors passed up the gangway throughout the afternoon and they were shown over the modern .'liner. The Marine Parade also was visited and quite a dumber watched the unloading of the Cowan with her, cafgo of some 20,000 mutton birds. Mr F. Goomes, wireless operator at the '. Awarua station, is spending his vacation at Bluff and is staying with his parents, sj Mr and Mrs C. Goomes, Henderson street.
