Children’s Clothes

K ~ RLRR.RRRR.Rxi Ij.RRxX S 3 xxsxxrxxxxxxxxxx XXXXJ 1 (From Our Corres;>ondcnt.) London. The mother who wants to give to her children’s clothes just those subtle touches of chic which proclaim the influence of Paris, should knit into little woollen jumpers, or applique to linen and silken ones, amusing and novelty motifs in gaily contrasting colour by way of decoration. On the front of the French child’s jumper may be a quaint row of wooden soldiers, two railway Engines passing each other full-steam ahead, or a dog sitting with disconsolate mien outside its kennel. Farmyard scenes are specially popular, and there is quite a Noah's Ark flavour about the row of farm denizens, including the farmer, wearing sabots, and his white-cap-ped wife, which surround jumper-hems. Like mother, baby wears everything en suite; jumper, leggings, gloves, scarf and little beret, with tassel on the top, of knitted wool, often of the universal tweed mixtures. Printed Turkish towelling is quite a new idea for the small person’s bathrobe. Some in a flower design on a white background are being shown by a well-known Parisian shop which specializes in children’s wear. it r; tstf ft ra su tr# «■» v *rffft ft «tt» ve •» • « tstt .f ni 51 AX XA AAAAAA •• !A At •A.AAAt AAAA.AA AAA X ALAA AA
