THE HON. A.J. MURDOCH

FIRST OFFICIAL ACT. (Per United Press Association.) Masterton, June 2. The Hon. A. J. Murdoch, Minister of Agriculture, performed his first official act'since attaining Ministerial rank when he opened the Wairarapa Winter Show to-night. Other speakers included the district members, Messrs G. R. Sykes and RrCole, T. W. MacDonald, the Director-General of Agriculture (Dr C. J. Reakes), the Mayor of Masterton (Mr T. Jorden) and the chairman (Mr E. M. Hodder). Speakers stressed the importance of developing primary and secondary industries, especially in times of economic stress.
